Two people were pronounced dead after a solo-vehicle crash on the southbound 110 Freeway early Monday morning in the Vermont Vista neighborhood of South Los Angeles.

The crash occurred about 12:15 a.m. on the freeway transition to the eastbound 105 Freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.

It was unclear how many people were in the vehicle but two were ejected after it struck a safety barricade in the center divider, Kimball said.

Emergency crews responded and pronounced a male and female dead at the scene.

At least one other person was injured and transported to an area hospital, Kimball said.

Authorities have not identified anyone involved in the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The incident prompted officials to issue a SigAlert for several hours as the investigation took place.

All lanes have been reopened.
