A police officer was shot and one person was killed outside of the La Habra Police Department Friday night, authorities said.
Police responded to a disturbance call at around 7:04 p.m. outside the police station, located at 150 N. Euclid St., La Habra police said in a tweet. The suspect reportedly died at the scene
City Councilmember James Gomez said in a video posted to Facebook that the person who died at the scene was not a police officer.
The scene remained active Friday night as police investigate the incident, aerial video from Sky5 showed.
The officer was taken to a nearby trauma center and is in critical but stable condition, authorities said.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office is conducting an independent investigation.
