The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area Tuesday night.

The shooting was reported at 5:12 p.m., according to Officer Rosario Cervantes of the LAPD.

The 30-year-old victim, whose name was not released, was fatally shot near Hillcrest and Santo Tomas drives, according to Cervantes and Mike Lopez of the LAPD.

He was transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department, but Lopez confirmed around 8:30 p.m. that the man had died.

No further information was available.
