With less than a week to go before the National Football League crowns a new champion, businesses nearby are hoping to capitalize on visitors and local law enforcement is working around the clock to make sure everyone going to the game is safe.

Businesses near SoFi Stadium are preparing for the influx of visitors and some restaurants in the nearby area are opening early or planning on having extra staffing ready before, during and after the big game.

Across the street from the stadium, shopping plazas are stocking up with supplies in anticipation of fans flocking to the area.

To ensure everyone has a safe time, local and federal law enforcement agencies met Tuesday morning to discuss safety preparations.

Hundreds of officers are expected to be deployed on game day and that means increased patrols around the stadium and in the parking lots.

Authorities are hoping to avoid a similar incident to what happened at the NFC Championship game when a San Francisco 49ers fan was punched in the parking lot. That fan, identified as Daniel Luna, was placed in a medically induced coma.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said the extra officers will cost around $4 million in police overtime. That bill will be picked up the NFL, he said.
