Two people were injured after a car crashed into several vehicles and landed on a front lawn in Watts early Thursday.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. along the 11000 block of Compton Avenue, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Residents said the vehicle lost control, took down several fences, hit several vehicles and damaged a utility pole.

The car sustained and caused major damage in the area. The crash left a trail of destruction as the lawn was left with a pile of rubble made up of fencing, pieces of damaged cars and even a tree that was pushed into a yard.

Two people taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It is unknown, however, if the victims were in the vehicle or outside the house at the time of the crash.

Kenya Sanchez, who lives in the home where the car stopped, said she was awoken by a “big crash.”

“We came outside and we saw everything was destroyed and the car was on top of the tree over there,” Sanchez told KTLA. She said she was “pretty scared” after she saw people bleeding. She added she believes the car could have been speeding.

Though the home sustained no structural damage, several homes in the area were affected.
