A woman was hospitalized after being stabbed early Tuesday morning outside a popular Hollywood nightclub, police said.

The incident began about 1:15 a.m. at Boardner’s, a club located in the the 1600 block of North Cherokee Avenue (map), just south of Hollywood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Multiple women inside the establishment “got into some kind of verbal altercation. It spilled out onto the sidewalk,” said LAPD Sgt. Gary Newton.

A male driver then drove up to the scene, exited a black car and stabbed one of the women once with an unknown object, Newton said. The assailant then got back into his car and fled.

The woman was transported to a hospital, authorities said. Her condition was not immediately known.

No other information was available.
