The West Hollywood City Council unanimously voted Monday to install signalized crosswalks on Santa Monica Boulevard after multiple residents attended the meeting and shared concerns about walking in the area.
Multiple residents spoke at the meetings saying they were concerned that as many as 83 pedestrians had been hit by vehicles since Jan. 1, 2001, three of them resulting in death.
The council decided to have lights installed on the boulevard between San Vicente Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard (map).
