Dick Van Dyke is recovering from a vehicle crash that happened in Malibu.

The single-vehicle crash happened on March 15, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told KTLA 5 News.

The actor’s vehicle apparently slid and he lost control before it crashed into a gate, police sources told TMZ. Arriving officers found Van Dyke behind the wheel of his 2018 Lexus LS 500.

L.A. fire officials evaluated the 97-year-old, who reportedly suffered minor injuries including “bleeding from the nose and mouth” and possibly a concussion.

The crash is currently under investigation by traffic investigators within the Sheriff’s Department, which is standard protocol.

Drugs and alcohol were not a factor, but police have submitted paperwork to the DMV to request the “Mary Poppins” star retake his driving test, according to the outlet.

The accident comes a decade after the “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” actor’s car caught fire on a Los Angeles freeway.
