A 43-year-old man has died after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a vehicle on a street in Burbank, police said Sunday.

The crash occurred about 2:16 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Riverside and and Gaylord drives, just south of the 134 Freeway (map), according to a news release from the Burbank Police Department.

Officers and Fire Department personnel arrived to find the motorcyclist partially trapped under an unoccupied vehicle on Riverside, just east of Gaylord, the release said. The cause of the collision was not immediately known.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin.

Officials from the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the Police Department’s Traffic Bureau were called to the crash site.

An investigation is ongoing.

Officials asked anyone who witnessed the crash, or the saw the motorcycle being driven beforehand, to call the Police Department at 818-238-3100.
