Thousands of people were expected to line the streets of Hollywood Sunday evening for the 83rd annual Hollywood Christmas.
The parade, which begins at 5 p.m., features musical performances, celebrities and giants balloons.
A number of major streets in the area would be temporarily for the festivities, according to the Hollywood Parade’s website. They are:
• Hollywood Boulevard from La Brea Avenue to Orange Street from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Hawthorne Avenue, DeLongpre Avenue and Fountain Avenue from La Brea Avenue to Highland Avenue from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• El Cerrito Place from Hollywood Boulevard to Franklin Avenue from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sycamore Street and Orange Street from Franklin Avenue to Fountain Avenue from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunset Boulevard from La Brea Avenue to Highland Avenue from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• East side of La Brea Avenue from Hollywood Boulevard to Sunset Boulevard from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Highland Avenue from Franklin Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Hollywood Boulevard from Highland Avenue to Gower Street from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Vine Street from Franklin Avenue to Santa Monica Boulevard from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Sunset Boulevard from Highland Avenue to Gower Street from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Additionally, the northbound and southbound off-ramps of Cahuenga Boulevard and Highland Avenue would be closed at 3 p.m. They would be reopened at 10 p.m.
The edited parade will air on KTLA at 8 p.m. Dec. 19 and again at 3 p.m. Dec. 21.
