Glendale police recently detained one man and were searching for two others after the trio allegedly stole a 7-foot artificial Christmas tree on display at an outdoor parking structure, according to authorities.
Police responded around noon Tuesday to the 400 block of North Brand Boulevard (map) to reports that a tree with red, silver and green ornaments was missing from a first-level parking structure, according to a department news release.
Surveillance footage from Monday around 11:10 a.m. showed three men placing the tree in the back seat of an older-model Jaguar with a portion of it sticking out the rear driver’s side window before leaving the scene.
A license plate number was obtained through surveillance images and led officers to the 1200 block of Crescent Street where the vehicle was registered.
Glendale resident Raffi Varosyan was then detained and charged with grand theft.
Police were searching for the two other men seen in the surveillance video.
