A 49-year-old Victorville man accused of falsely imprisoning a 16-year-old girl and sexually assaulting her over a period of several days was scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday, according to San Bernardino County jail records.

Buck Wylde Murphy was arrested last Thursday on multiple charges in connection with the case, including kidnapping, false imprisonment and rape, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

He allegedly used social media sites to lure the victim from New York, arranged for her travel to California and then held the teen against her will “by threat of force,” the release stated.

Murphy was then accused of sexually assaulting the girl over the course of a few days, according to sheriff’s officials.

After being taken into custody, Murphy was booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Inmate records showed his bail had been set at $1,000,000.

Investigators believe the suspect may have had additional victims, and have asked anyone with information to call Detective Salsberry or Detective Ford of the Sheriff’s Department at 909-890-4840.
