Take yourself out of the ordinary and spend a few hours in one of nature’s wonders. This 50 acres of extraordinary color, better known as The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch®, is in bloom on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The exhibition “Light Catchers” features the work of seven veteran African American photographers active in Los Angeles since the late 1940s including Cliff Hall and Lamonte McLemore, and excerpts from oral history interviews.
The photographs present celebrity entertainers, athletes, politicians and civil leaders and activists in a variety of settings in Los Angeles. The African American photographers in this exhibition had to use their cameras, their wits and their entrepreneurial talents to survive in an atmosphere that offered little encouragement for minorities.

And, fast cars; muscle cars, are racing this weekend in Fontana is the National Muscle Car Association West Competition. West coast racers are competing for home custom winners awards and there are competitors in 11 classes, including the six-second, 240 mph Garrett Turbo Pro Mod cars, chasing points toward a year-end prize and the title of World Champion.
