Two men in their early 20s were wounded Sunday in a car-to-car shooting near the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza shopping center, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 5 p.m. at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Stocker Street West (map), where three men in a gray minivan were stopped at a red light, said Detective Gerald Harden of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Gunshots were fired from inside an SUV after it pulled alongside the minivan, the detective said.
Two men were struck by gunfire and transported to local hospitals, where they were both listed in stable condition, according to the LAPD. A third occupant of the minivan, a man in his 20s, was unharmed. Authorities initially said three men were shot.
There was no indication that the victims returned fire, Harden said.
Witnesses told investigators the SUV was last seen traveling westbound on Stocker.
The motive for the shooting was unknown.
