An investigation was underway Sunday morning after a body was found in a riverbed in Canyon Country, authorities said.
A caller reported the discovery about 9:13 a.m. near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Jakes Way (map), just south of the Santa Clara River, according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Valley station.
Deputies responded to the area and located a “deceased male,” the spokesman said.
It was not immediately known whether the person was the victim of foul play or died of natural causes, the Sheriff’s Department said.
