Police are investigating after a fight led to gunfire near a school in Chatsworth Thursday morning.

The altercation was reported at about 9 a.m., and when officers arrived to the scene in the 9900 block of Lurline Avenue, they found that two men had brawled near Chatsworth High School, though it was not related to the school, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

During the fight, one shot was fired, but no one was hit, police confirmed on X, formerly Twitter.

Footage from the scene shows one man atop the other in what appears to be a street. Multiple expletives can be heard, and the man on top could be seen striking the other man multiple times.

The nearby school was placed on lockdown, a student confirmed to KTLA 5.

One person has been taken into custody, and the other person was transported to a local hospital due to injuries sustained in the fight, police said.
