Residents were asked to contact authorities Wednesday if they have any information about a man who attempted to get three young girls into his van in an unincorporated area of San Bernardino.

The three girls, ages 7 to 10 years old, were riding bicycles near the intersection of North Ironwood Street and Dogwood Street (map) at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when they were approached by a man driving a gray older model Chevy Astro van, the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

The man was telling the girls to get in the van as he waved them over, but they ignored him and rode home, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The man was described as white, about 50 years old, with a mustache that curled at the ends.

He was bald on top of his head with shoulder length hair on the sides and was unshaven, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The van had a light gray stripe along the sides, the news release stated.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department Central Station.
