Become a Facebook power user with these secrets…

With over 1 billion users, Facebook is a powerful force in our lives. We use the social media site almost daily, but these secrets can help you take your social networking to the next level.

Secret #1 – Search
We all know that you can search for friends on Facebook. But, did you know that you can search for almost anything? Simply type in a few keywords and Facebook will find posts from your friends on any topic you can think of including recommended restaurants, movies, doctors and more.

Secret #2 – Have Fun with Photos
Everyone knows that Facebook is a great way to share photos with your friends and family, but the social network site can do much, much more. You’ve probably noticed that Facebook will auto-enhance the pictures you upload, but you have the ability to change the filters it adds. Swipe between filters, type in text, and add emojis and stickers to your photos for a little more enhancement. To do this, just look for the edit button near the bottom of your uploaded photo.

Secret #3 – Save it for Later
Have you ever seen a post that you’d like to read, but you just don’t have time? Why not save it for later? Just tap the little chevron next to the post to save the link. See your saved posts to the left of your Newsfeed on the desktop site or under ‘more’ on mobile.

Secret #4 – Name Pronunciation
Have you ever been asked how to pronounce your name? Facebook can now let your people know how to say your name properly. Just go to your profile page and click ‘about’. Look for the details about you and listen the Facebook’s guesses. Choose the combination that sounds right.

Two Web-Only Bonus Tips:

Use Facebook Groups to help communicate and plan
Decide what kind of group to use: Groups can be public, closed, or secret. Public groups mean that anyone can search for and join or request to join the group, as well as see posts in the Group. Closed groups mean that people can search for your group, must request to join and will need to be added to the group by an existing member in order to see posts in the Group. Secret groups mean that people cannot search for your group, so you must be added to the group by an existing member.

Once you set up a group, you can chat with members via the Messenger app, share photos and files and keep a record of your conversations.

Control Who You See First in News Feed
Go to News Feed Preferences, then tap on a friend’s profile picture to see their posts first. You will then see any new stories they’ve shared since your last visit to Facebook at the top of News Feed, with a star in the top right of their post so you know why they’re at the top. You can scroll down to see the rest of your News Feed normally.
