An airline that bills itself as an “ultra-low fare carrier” is adding new nonstop service out of LAX to two major cities, with ticket prices starting as low as $20.
Frontier Airlines will launch daily service between LAX and the Sacramento International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Aug. 13.
One-way tickets to Sacramento start at $19, and tickets to Atlanta are offered at a price of $59.
The tickets are currently being offered at an introductory rate and will need to be purchased by 9 p.m. PDT on June 20. The prices are also limited to certain travel days and don’t include baggage fees or seat selection.
The new routes will bring the total number of destinations offered by Frontier via LAX to eight. Earlier this year, the airline announced service to five other cities, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Francisco. Frontier’s longest operating route from LAX is to Mexico City.
Many of these existing routes have similar $19 price tags during the current introductory sale period.

Frontier has made major expansions across the country in recent months and has ordered 210 new Airbus planes to meet demand. It says improvements have been made to improve customer service and price transparency, as well as new upgraded seating options.
The Denver-based airline claims to have an “industry-leading frequent flyer program” that allows regular travelers to accumulate rewards points fast, and multiple status levels that come with their own set of perks and point-multipliers.
