Firefighters extinguished an outdoor fire that burned several vehicles Saturday afternoon in Van Nuys, officials said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, which broke out shortly before 3:40 p.m. in the 7600 block of Gloria Avenue, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.

Thirty-six firefighters responded to the scene, just east of Van Nuys Airport, and knocked down the flames within 23 minutes, according to the news release.

No structures were damaged in the fire, the LAFD said.  An unknown number of vehicles and some cardboard boxes were burned.

The cause of the fire was unknown.
