Jody Haralson was arrested Thursday, a day his 56th birthday, on suspicion of sexually assaulting two brothers in the San Bernardino, Devore and Phelan areas between 1994 and 1995.

The brothers were between 14 and 15, and 11 and 12 years old at the time of their assaults.

Haralson, a resident of Hacienda Heights, and the older brother met while working at the Faire in Devore, leading to a friendship with the younger brother, according to investigators.

He then allegedly engaged in oral copulation with the brothers multiple times during a 12-month period.

Investigators also learned Haralson is a registered sex offender, and public records show he was previous convicted of oral copulation with a minor under 14 years of age or by force or fear, and lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.

The date of the previous offenses was not known.

Haralson has been booked on suspicion of oral copulation, with the victim being under 16 years of age and the suspect being over 21, according to the Sheriff’s Department. His bail was set at $100,000.

The department asked any other potential victims to come forward.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Detective Jacob Gault at 909-387-3651. Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call the We-tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463), or leave information on the We-Tip Hotline at www.wetip.com.

The Sheriff’s Department’s investigation began after the older brother contacted his local law enforcement agency in Florida to report the crimes.
