An inmate was shot by a guard and three other prisoners were injured during an incident Monday at the California State Prison-Sacramento.
At least four inmates were involved in what authorities are describing as an incident.
A correctional officer shot an inmate during the ordeal that began at 10:25 a.m., according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. A second inmate suffered stab wounds. They were taken to an outside area hospital.
Two other inmates were also injured and were treated at the facility in the 100 block of Prison Road in Represa.
