A total of 195 people were arrested in downtown Los Angeles overnight Friday into Saturday for various reasons stemming from an anti-Donald Trump protest, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.

Officers arrested 187 adults and eight juveniles during the fourth night of unrest as a result of Tuesday’s presidential election results.

LAPD officials estimate that about 1,000 people marched through downtown and some began vandalizing property, blocking roads interfering with officers and refusing to leave when conditions became unsafe.

“The LAPD will continue to provide the necessary resources o ensure the safe and peaceful expression of opinion,” the LAPD said in a statement. “When demonstrators begin to violate the law and create unsafe conditions for the demonstrators, officers and the public, department personnel will continue to take appropriate enforcement action.”

Police were expected to be present during a march from MacArthur Park to downtown later Saturday.
