The deceased man was found about 9:10 a.m. in the water near Leeward Bay Marina, located at 611 N. Henry Ford Ave., the LAFD reported.

Authorities told KTLA the they believe the man is the same person who was swept away in the Dominguez Channel in Gardena during Monday’s storm.

Early Monday morning a woman walked herself into a McDonald’s located at 13918 Artesia Blvd. and said she had gotten washed away with her boyfriend after entering the channel at Manhattan Beach Boulevard near El Camino College, according to authorities.

Officials searched for the man for several hours on Monday, but he was never found.

A witness who lives in a house boat at the marina told KTLA on Saturday the body appeared to be of a tall man.

The man’s body was removed from the water by emergency responders.

The Los Angeles Port Authority Police and LAFD were investigating the man’s death. The coroner’s office was on scene and working to determine the man’s identity.

No other information was immediately available.
