Police on Tuesday released surveillance video of three men armed with guns entering a Placentia home where a man was killed in January.

Three men who are believed to be involved in a January Placentia homicide are seen in surveillance video released by the Placentia Police Department on March 7, 2017.

The homicide occurred Jan. 19 in the 900 block of Vista Avenue and Robert Rios, 35, was shot to death.

Police said the shooting was captured by surveillance cameras, but released video of the three men approaching the home.

“They had no hesitation, they went directly into the front yard,” Sgt. Bryce Angel told KTLA. “They encountered the victim on the front porch area they called him out into the front yard and that’s where the shooting took place.”

Angel added that the victim appeared to have put up a struggle during the deadly encounter.  “There was some physical activity between the men in the front yard before the shooting took place,” Angel said.

No arrests have been made, but the sergeant said the men should be considered armed and dangerous.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

“Detectives are hoping that by releasing the video footage of the crime someone will recognize the suspects and report the information to law enforcement,” officials said in a news release.
