Homicide detectives were investigating the shooting death of a man in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood of South L.A. on Sunday morning, officials said.

The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of East 59th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies responded to a call about a shooting victim and found a Hispanic man lying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, a news release stated. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.

There was no suspect description available, and the shooting was believed to be gang related, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
