Andy Riesmeyer is an Anchor, Reporter, Multimedia Journalist and occasional weatherman, appearing weekdays on the KTLA News at 3, 4 and 5pm, and on the KTLA Weekend Morning News.
Andy started as an intern at KTLA in 2011, and more than a decade later, many people still think he is an intern. Before returning to the station in November of 2018, Andy worked on a number of projects in news, talk shows, comedy and branded content for companies like Hot Wheels, AT&T, Sony PlayStation, Red Bull and Mattel.
In 2012, Andy helped launch NewsBreaker with David Begnaud, which aired on Larry King’s digital platform. He covered major breaking news events including Hurricane Sandy, the Boston Marathon bombing and the manhunt for Christopher Dorner. Additionally, he accompanied David to Newtown, CT for a week of live coverage following the Sandy Hook School Shooting.
For the next three years, Andy hosted and Executive Produced OraTV’s DweebCast, a daily news show about nerd culture. Next, he was hired as a showrunner and host of the comedy internet talk show, All Systems Go w/Andy Riesmeyer for Machinima’s PlayStation VUE channel. Featuring guests from internet, video game and nerd culture in a subversive late-night format, the show ran for 185 episodes.
In 2016, Andy was hired as a co-showrunner and cast member for the daily comedy talk show @fullscreen, which aired on the Fullscreen app and DirecTV. Fullscreen later would task Andy with creative development, directing and hosting for the Hot Wheels YouTube channel from 2017-2018.
Andy rejoined KTLA in 2018 as the Sr. Producer and Host of KTLA’s 5 Live, a daily news and talk show for KTLA’s website and digital app. After the show concluded its 5(ish) years run in early 2023, Andy transitioned to on air full-time.
