Carolyn Costello

Carolyn Costello was a news reporter and fill-in anchor for KTLA. She left the station in August 2014.

Original bio:

Carolyn prides herself on her versatility. While she loves breaking news and politics, she also enjoys telling human interest and entertainment stories.

Before heading west, where she loves the sunny outdoors, Carolyn served as a reporter for WCBS-TV in New York City, and gained much of her experience in the Raleigh-Durham region of North Carolina.

As an anchor and reporter for WNCN-TV, Carolyn led the regional and national coverage of the now-infamous Duke lacrosse case. Carolyn broke several stories in the case, often reporting for MSNBC. She was among the first to report on former District Attorney Mike Nifong’s misconduct against three lacrosse players accused of rape. Following the story to the end, Carolyn reported when the state attorney general declared the players’ innocence, when Nifong was disbarred and when the disgraced DA was sentenced to jail.

Carolyn was born and raised in Long Island, N.Y. She graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Communications and began her career at News 12 Long Island. She worked for WLNY-TV in Melville, N.Y., and spent two years working for Cincinnati’s WXIX-TV.
