‘Full House’ Actor John Stamos Charged With Misdemeanor DUI After Beverly Hills Arrest

John Stamos, an actor best known for his role in the ABC sitcom “Full House,” has been charged with DUI stemming from a June arrest in Beverly Hills, prosecutors announced Thursday.

The 52-year-old Stamos, a Los Angeles resident, was facing one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said in a news release.

The actor was scheduled to appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday. The DA’s statement noted that an attorney may appear on behalf of a defendant, without the defendant being present, in a misdemeanor case.

Stamos was taken into custody June 12 near the intersection of Canon Drive and Brighton Way after “concerned citizens reported the defendant was allegedly behaving strangely and driving erratically,” according to the news release.

If convicted as charged, he faces a maximum sentence of six months in county jail.

An ongoing investigation was being conducted by the Beverly Hills Police Department.
