Something for the Summer: The New Applied Imagination Descanso Train Experience

Gayle Anderson was live at Descanso Gardens with a preview of its Descanso Railroad experience. It was created by garden railroad experts Applied Imagination of Cincinnati, Ohio. The company is internationally known for its botanical architecture and handmade railroads for various environments.

This new feature supplements and augments the Descanso Gardens existing popular, picturesque train, a 1/8 scale replica of a diesel train, where you can sit atop the cute cars, is now electric.

Descanso Gardens is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of U.S. historic buildings, structures, sites, objects, and districts worthy of preservation. The National Register provides formal recognition of a property’s architectural, historical, or archaeological significance. It also identifies historic properties for planning purposes and ensures that these properties will be considered in the planning of state or federally-assisted projects. National Register listing encourages preservation of historic properties through public awareness, federal and state tax incentives, and grants. Listing in the National Register does not place obligations or restrictions on the use, treatment, transfer, or disposition of private property.
