Foul-mouthed parrots to undergo group therapy

After going viral for their ability to swear, a group of parrots will be introduced to a larger group of proper parrots with the hope that a change of social scenery will curb the badmouthed birds’ cursing.

The parrots at U.K.’s Lincolnshire Wildlife Park first made international headlines in 2020 after the birds were discovered to repeat swear words.

An expert with the zoo says parrots can easily mimic swear words because they’re usually said in the same tone, used in similar contexts, and are also said without any associated words.

They admit the plot is risky; hopefully for them (but definitely not us) the parrot’s bad habits don’t rub off on the larger group.
