A Los Angeles motorcycle officer was taken to a local hospital with major injuries following a crash on the 210 Freeway in Glendora Wednesday morning.
The incident was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway near Grand Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident log.
The injured Los Angeles Police Department officer was later identified as 42-year-old Jeremy Hollings in a CHP news release.
Investigators said Hollings was riding to work on a 2015 LAPD BMW motorcycle when contact was made between the right side of his motorcycle and the left rear of a Ford F-250 work truck that was traveling in the lane to his right.
The impact caused the motorcycle to veer into the path of a Ford F-250 pickup truck that was traveling in the HOV lane, the news release sated.
The pickup truck collided with the motorcycle, causing major injuries to Hollings, who was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
No other injuries resulted from the crash.
A SigAlert was issued for the closure of two lanes on the westbound 210 Freeway through Glendora during the investigation.
Aerial video from Sky 5 over the scene showed all lanes had reopened on the freeway at about 6:30 a.m.
