Land, air and sea crews responded to reports of a victim about 15 feet down a cliff at the park located in the 800 block of West Paseo Del Mar (map), according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Deprtment.

A rescuer was able to climb down to the trapped man and put a harness around him, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

Moments later, firefighters pulled on a rope attached to the harness to help the man climb back up the cliff.

The 56-year-old man was then treated for a minor injury and was expected to be taken to a local hospital, Scott said.

It was unclear what the man was doing when he got stuck on the nearly 100-foot cliff.
