Ten employees of a federal defense contractor in El Segundo were hospitalized after eating at a company potluck Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A total of 17 people were sickened by what authorities suspect is food poisoning from spaghetti someone brought to the luncheon at ManTech International’s office in the 2100 block of East Maple Avenue, according to Lt. Dan Kim of the El Segundo Police Department.

Authorities were called to respond to the situation around 3:45 p.m., according to Kim. He said foul play is not suspected.

Aerial footage from Sky5 showed a number of ambulance vehicles parked outside the grounds of ManTech, a publicly traded federal defense contractor, as multiple people were seen being wheeled away on stretchers.

The patients were visibly ill. Some could be seen clenching their hands over their mouths as they were loaded into ambulances, while others were hunched over as they spoke with first responders.

A KTLA reporter at the scene saw vomit all over the company’s parking lot.

Those sickened were suffering from symptoms including fatigue, nausea and vomiting, the Los Angeles Times reported.

No other details were released by police.
