Four people were arrested after four officers responding to a noise call at a San Fernando home were “attacked” early Sunday, according to police.
Cell phone footage shows a group of people arguing with officers outside the home before the altercation turns physically violent just moments later.
According to police, four officers came across a crowd of about 30 people when they responded for a third time to a home in 700 block of Fourth Street shortly before 2 a.m. However, video shows the officers first speaking with a group of what appears to be less than a dozen people.
They told the crowd to disperse but police say a man threw a bottle at one of the officers, hitting him in the upper body.
When the officers tried making an arrest, “they were attacked by multiple individuals in the crowd,” the news release states.
Video shows the officers walking past the group toward a home garage before punches are seen being thrown amid the sounds of screams and yelling. Some other people are later seen coming out of the garage.
The officers called for help and units from the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Unified School District Police responded to the scene.
As police took multiple people into custody, a man with his face bloodied was seen lying in the driveway of the home. Another man was seen being escorted from the scene in handcuffs with blood stains to his shirt.
The four people who were arrested and four San Fernando police officers who initially responded were all taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to authorities.
Police described the injuries suffered by the officers as moderate while no details were given about the conditions of the others wounded.
