ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST (KTLA) — Five hikers reported missing in Eaton Canyon were found unharmed Friday.
Deputies received a call around 7 a.m. from a man who said his daughter had gone to Eaton Canyon with four others around 8 a.m. on Thursday.
The group of hikers in their 20’s apparently planned to go hiking and rappelling, and the trip was supposed to last about eight hours. But the group never returned.
At some point during the hike the group decided to camp for the night but didn’t contact anyone about the change of plans, according to officials.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department sent out a helicopter and search and rescue team and found the group.
Apparently the hikers had no idea anyone was looking for them.
