Five workers were injured Saturday when they reportedly fell 20 feet at a construction site in the city of Commerce, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded at 3:15 p.m. to the Commerce Casino at 6131 Telegraph Road (map), a department spokesperson said. Part of the building that houses the casino, which is adjacent to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, has been undergoing a major refurbishment.

The five injured suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate, and were transported to hospitals, the fire official said.

It was unclear if they were employees of the casino or a construction company.
