Six-month-old Noah Connally was set to undergo his third heart surgery on Wednesday at Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Noah was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) before he was born and underwent his first surgical procedure in-utero at just 28 weeks, according to a news release from the not-for-profit relief organization Novitas Foundation.

The little boy, known as the “miracle baby” by hospital staff, had his second operation within a week of his birth, the release stated.

HLHS affects the normal blood flow of the heart, making it difficult for oxygen-rich blood to distribute effectively throughout the body, the release stated.

On Wednesday, Noah was scheduled to undergo an open-heart procedure called the “Glenn” in a final effort to restore proper blood and oxygen flow to his body.
