7 Injured, 2 Critical, in Fiery Collision Between MTA Bus and Car in South Los Angeles

At least seven people were injured, two critically, when a car collided with a Metro bus in South Los Angeles, triggering a fire that engulfed both vehicles.

It happened at 6:30 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Western Avenue, according to Officer Tony Im with the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver was the only person on board the bus and the flames were knocked down quickly, Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department stated.

A total of four cars were involved in the crash, according to Scott.

Six patients were transported to local hospitals.

No additional information was released.
