Seasoned character actor Bill Cobbs died on Tuesday in Riverside, TMZ reports. He had recently turned 90 years old.

TMZ cited Cobbs’ publicist Chuck I. Jones as the source of the news that the winner of an Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Performance in a Daytime Program for “Dino Dana” had passed.

The news was confirmed by People magazine.

Cobbs’ brother, Thomas Cobbs, told TMZ that pneumonia is the suspected cause of death.

“As a family we are comforted knowing Bill has found peace and eternal rest with his Heavenly Father,” Thomas Cobbs said. “We ask for your prayers and encouragement during this time.”

Bill Cobbs was known for films like “Night at the Museum” and appearances in TV shows such as “Walker, Texas Ranger” and “The Sopranos.”

He also appeared in “Air Bud,” uttering the line “you won’t find anything in [the rulebook] that says a dog can’t play,” which set up the referee’s classic reply of “ain’t no rule that says a dog can’t play basketball.”
