Los Angeles is hosting its first firework buyback event Wednesday in Mission Hills in a bid to curb illegal firework displays during the Fourth of July weekend.

Angelenos can trade in their fireworks in exchange for gift cards or theme park tickets from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. at 15121 S. Brand Blvd, Mission Hills.
