Angels center fielder Mike Trout was involved in an multi-vehicle crash along the 55 Freeway in Tustin Wednesday night, but was not injured.
The crash was reported about 9 p.m. near the McFadden Avenue exit of the highway. Video from the scene showed that a woman was trapped in one of the vehicles and firefighters had to rescue her.
Two people were injured in the crash, the Orange County Register reported. One victim was taken to Hoag Hospital and the other was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center, according to the newspaper. Their conditions were unknown.
Trout was seen speaking to California Highway Patrol officers that responded to the scene and did not appear to be injured.
In a statement released on Twitter, Angels General Manger Billy Eppler confirmed that the player was in a crash and was OK.
“I have spoken with Mike this evening and he feels fine,” the statement reads. “He is at home with his roommate and is planning on traveling with the club to Seattle tomorrow afternoon.”
Trout played at Angels Stadium in Anaheim Wednesday, where the team beat the Cincinnati Reds 3 to 0.
The Angels play the Seattle Mariners at 7:10 p.m. Thursday.
