An argument between two men turned deadly early Tuesday morning as a man died from stab wounds in Lancaster, according to authorities.

In a news release, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said deputies responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence at the 800 block of West Avenue J-1. While en route, the deputies were informed that the call was for a possible arson.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke to a witness who said a man hopped a fence and fled the area into a parking lot. While searching the parking lot, authorities found a man suffering from stab wounds.

The man, identified only as a Black male, was transported to a local hospital where he later died. No other identifying information was immediately made available.

Investigations revealed that the man and another man were arguing in front of the home when it turned violent. The victim was stabbed and both men then fled the scene, with the victim later being found in the parking lot.

No additional details, including any description of a potential suspect, have been made available as of Tuesday afternoon.
