Arnold Schwarzenegger brought Hollywood magic to Hollywood Boulevard recently, dressing up as the Terminator and generally messing with people’s heads.

“He looks real,” said one woman posing with what she thought was a Schwarzenegger wax figure at Madame Tussauds. “That’s because I am,” the actor said, coming to life and scaring the bejeezus out of her. And she was far from the only person to be surprised.

Video of the day’s shenanigans — an effort by the “Terminator: Genisys” actor to raise awareness of the After-School All-Stars children’s charity — shows visitors at Tussauds flipping out, one after the other, as Schwarzenegger reveals himself as real. Those trademark shades, along with the character’s deadpan personality, helped a lot in creating the illusion.

The action hero also took his show on the road — er, the boulevard — and faced off with Terminator impersonators, hurling catch phrases honed by years of practice. “Don’t bump my selfie stick,” he said as he walked through crowds on the sidewalk, almost blending in with the usual Hollywood Boulevard crowd.
