Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are trying to track down the bodies of at least two people that were reportedly found Thursday in the Angeles National Forest above Azusa.
The bodies were reported shortly after 2 p.m. in the hills above San Gabriel Canyon Road, in a section of the forest charred by a recent wildfire, according to Sheriff’s Deputy Tina Schrader.
A person claimed to have discovered the bodies in the remote area and flagged down a crew of firefighters to report the sighting. But firefighters searched the area and have yet to find any remains, Schrader said.
Investigators along with search-and-rescue teams planned to canvass the remote area of the forest on Friday morning, Schrader said.
