The driver of an SUV was subdued by a police K-9 dog and taken into custody Friday night after a slow-speed chase ended in Garden Grove.
The chase began about 10:15 p.m. after officers began following the possibly stolen vehicle on Glassell Street in the city of Orange, said Sgt. Phil McMullan of the Orange Police Department.
The driver of the SUV drove away after the officers initiated a traffic stop, McMullan said.
A slow-speed pursuit ensued, involving multiple law-enforcement agencies on surface streets, Sky5 video showed.
Authorities chased the vehicle through Anaheim and into Garden Grove, where it stopped after turning onto a dead-end street.
The driver exited the vehicle and, moments later, was set upon by a police dog and fell to the ground. Officers then moved in, removed the animal and handcuffed the driver.
