A 37-year-old Christian school secretary in Barstow has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a 14-year-old boy, and authorities said Tuesday they were concerned there were additional victims.

Kristen Kaye Blanton was taken into custody Monday following an investigation that began the previous day when the victim’s parents found “inappropriate” text messages on his cellphone, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Blanton was suspected of taking the victim, whom she met through Barstow Christian School, to various locations in Barstow and committing sexual acts on him, investigators said.

The alleged molestation occurred between October and December 2014, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

She was booked at the Barstow jail on several felony counts of child molestation, including lewd and lascivious acts with a child, oral copulation and contact with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense, the release stated.

Blanton posted $150,000 bail and was released from custody later that night.

Authorities were concerned there may have been other victims and were encouraging anyone with information about the investigation to call Detective David Clifford at 909-387-3615.
