With the Grammys taking place Sunday evening in downtown Los Angeles, the entertainment world will be even more Southern California-focused than it normally is. President Joe Biden has taken note.

Biden and First Lady Jill Biden are swinging through Los Angeles on Saturday ahead of a trip to Las Vegas on Sunday and Monday.

While the Vegas stint includes what the White House called “a political event,” so, too, will Saturday, according to a report in Deadline.

In L.A., Biden plans “to meet with Black leaders in the entertainment industry in town for the Grammys,” Deadline reports, citing “a source familiar with the plans.”

“During the campaign visit, the president plans to talk with the industry leaders about the issues at stake in the election, and how they can use their platforms to mobilize voters between now and the November election, according to the source,” the report adds.

While Biden won’t be in attendance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, the audience at home will see a campaign ad for Biden highlighting abortion rights, Deadline says.

This trip comes after First Lady Biden last year presented the Grammys’ first ever award for best song for social change.
