The number and extent of possible injuries was not immediately known.

The vehicle was traveling westbound near Waterman Avenue (map) about 2:50 p.m. when a passenger went to the front of the bus, grabbed the steering wheel and caused the crash, the CHP report stated. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The San Bernardino Fire Department responded to the scene, where at least one occupant exited the bus through a window, the Highway Patrol said.
