Police were investigating the discovery of a camera in the women’s bathroom at a Del Taco restaurant in La Habra, authorities announced Wednesday.

Officers responded to the restaurant in the 700 block of South Beach Boulevard on July 31 after receiving a call about a “suspicious electronic device,” according to a news release from the La Habra Police Department.

The device was later identified as a small camera.

It was not known how long the camera was in the bathroom.

Del Taco issued a statement Wednesday confirming the incident.

“We are in full cooperation with the La Habra Police Department to help identify the outside party that violated the safety and security of both our guests and employees; a matter that is of the utmost importance to Del Taco,” the statement read.

The company was offering a $5,000 reward for evidence leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Detective Lucifora at 562-383-4364.
